  • Reizen Waes 12-12 in Noord-Oeganda. Interview met Tom Waes

This post is in Dutch, it’s about the humanitarian crisis in South Sudan and other countries in the world – a Belgian TV show ‘Reizen Waes’ had a look inside the largest refugee camp in the world, Bidibidi.

“Hongersnood 12-12” is een nationale oproep van het Consortium 12-12, bestaande uit Caritas International, Handicap International, Dokters van de Wereld, Oxfam Solidariteit, Plan België en UNICEF België. De organisaties bundelen hun krachten voor deze actie, in solidariteit met de bijna 20 miljoen slachtoffers van de ergste humanitaire crisis sinds 1945.

London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Auckland, Taupo, Nelson, Kaikoura, Christchurch, Queenstown, Warsaw, New York, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, Campinas, St. Petersburg, Mumbai, Doha, Bologna, Helsinki, Kraków, The Hague,  Abu Dhabi, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Lombok, Kuta, Bilbao, San Sebastián, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Berlin, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oslo, Paris, Perth, Melbourne, Auckland, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Berlin.

Chronological list of places I visited in 2015.

It’s that time of the year again when everyone publishes a “best of 2015” list and looks forward to what 2016 may bring. While I did take 73 flights and flew 132.334 miles, I also spent a lot of […]

  • Review: Four Points Bali Kuta

Four Points Bali, or Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta is a 4-star hotel located on Jalan Benesari in Kuta, a few minutes walk from the beach and close to the nightlife scene. The hotel opened in 2015 and has 185 rooms, including 22 suites.

I had booked a ‘Deluxe Pool View’ at a ‘Special Opening Offer’ rate which was 208 USD total for 2 nights including charges & fees.

Four Points by Sheraton hotels are supposed to be “limited or select service”, but the Four Points Bali Kuta is rather unique in its kind and offers a lot more, perhaps similar to […]

  • Review: JAL First Class 777-300ER Tokyo to Sydney

When I flew to New Zealand earlier this year, I deliberately made a detour and routed through Tokyo just so that I could experience JAL First Class (and visit Tokyo for 20h). I simply love Japan: the food, culture, … and even the trendy nightclubs. So flying Japan Airlines was something I was really looking forward to.

The previous day I flew Cathay Pacific from Milan to Hong Kong to Tokyo Haneda Airport. After spending half the day in Tokyo, I went to Narita Airport and visited the Japan Airlines First Class lounge but I wasn’t able to take any decent pictures, photography isn’t allowed. Although it’s a nice […]

  • Review: Hotel Bristol Warsaw Junior Suite

The Hotel Bristol Warsaw is located on the most prestigious street in Warsaw  “Krakowskie Przedmieście”, situated on the Royal Route the neo-renaissance building still manages to stand out and is considered to be the poshest place to stay. It’s perfect if you want to visit the Old Town “Stare Miasto” which is only a stone’s throw away.

During a weekend in Warsaw I spent one night at the InterContinental Warsaw and one night at Hotel Bristol.

I had booked the hotel when it was listed on SPG Hot Escapes and paid 140 EUR for a ‘Bristol Suite’. Upon arrival I was informed that I had been upgraded to […]

  • Review: InterContinental Warsaw Junior Suite

I prefer to visit places where I haven’t been before, explore new cities. Warsaw is an exception which I visit at least once a year. There’s always something happening, new restaurants that opened, new parties, … People seem to be very entrepreneurial. Another great thing is that the value for money is pretty amazing and you can easily find 5* hotels for less than 75 EUR per night: Sofitel, Bristol Warsaw, Marriott, Hilton, … and one of my favourites in the city: the InterContinental Warsaw.

The hotel has the highest indoor swimming pool in Europe with a fantastic view over the city and the Pałac Kultury […]
